West Texas Intermediate rose 93 cents, or 2.4 per cent to $40.22 a barrel.On Wednesday, the Sensex ended 94.71 points - or 0.25 per cent - higher at 38,067.93, and the Nifty settled at 11,247.55, up 25.15 points - or 0.22 per cent.
